Historically speaking when cavalry were able to charge the artillery, the artillery crews would retire to nearby infantry squares. As we can not simulate this in the mod, I believe embedding artillery is the closest thing to reality as possible. Not embedding artillery would make artillery near useless and give cavalry a non-historical advantage, thus not embedding artillery is historically incorrect.

As for tactics in game play, of which I am a bit more knowledgeable, artillery is almost useless as it stands now. This is to say it is useless in my hands, under my control, because my infantry are too fast and effective to wait for the guns. In half the battles I fight my token artillery doesn't even unlimber.

As for NBC, rerfer to the latest General Order.

Before my inactivity I was now taking 19 inf and overwhelming my enemy who took ineffective art and therefore was immobile wheress I could attck several places at once. Your wrong with the crews running back to squares sloop I do it all the time they just lose their carriges. Very interesting threads on lordz and nbc about quality of clans EA and other equallly unimportant stuff. I miss the field.
