New computer.

Postby Pally » Thu Aug 19, 2010 2:26 pm

I was wondering if anyone might be willing to assist me in setting up a layout for a new computer?
The one I currently have is ok and plays well enough, but I need more POWER!!!

I am on a limited budget so nothing crazy, maybe up to 700$ US. I dont expect to find a prebuilt online for that so I know it would have to be a custom job.

Any thoughts are helpfull!!

With that budget Pally, you can get quite a bit for your money if you can save items from your current PC. Can you post your current PC specs?

I's say just live with what you have and save your money until you have about twice that much, sell the old horse and buy cutting edge.

If I had to upgrade; the power supply is probably already maxed out. Next you would want to go big on the Vid card and then even more ram. I would start at Craigslist and upgrade according to what killer deals I could find.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications ... el-Memory&

I was looking at these 2 items on Tigerdirect.com

Needing some help with finding a Vid Card... I keep seeing PCI 2, but I am not sure my motherboard would support that... I think its PCI 1
